MARCUS IS NOT TALLER
find a common denominator of the two fractions > \frac{15}{48}"> 16 5 >> 48 15 > \frac{14}{48}"> 24 7 >> 48 14
MARCUS IS SHORTER BY 48 1

** Ben is taller than marcus** ; For this case we have the following mixed numbers.
For Marcus:
5 24 7
For Ben:
5 16 5
What we must do is rewrite the mixed numbers as rational numbers.
We have then:
For Marcus:
5 24 7 = 24 127
For Ben:
5 16 5 = 16 85
From here, we observe that Ben is taller than Marcus because:
\frac{127}{24}"> 16 85 > 24 127

Ben is taller than Marcus because when we compare their heights in improper fraction form, 48 255 for Ben is greater than 48 254 for Marcus.
