Ian uses 4 feet of ribbon to wrap each package. How many packages can he wrap with 5.5 yards of ribbon?

Answer (3)

first you want to turn yard into feet so 5.5 times 3 which makes 16.5 then divide by 4 and you get 4.125 but you can't do that so it would be 4 packages

With the 5.5 **yards **of ribbon Lan can wrap 4 packages.
What is unit conversion?
The same attribute is **expressed **using a unit conversion but in a different unit of measurement . For instance, time can be **expressed **in minutes rather than hours, and **distance **can be expressed in kilometers , feet, or any other measurement unit instead of miles .
Given ribbon **required **for a package = 4 feet
**total **ribbon Lan have = 5.5 yards
so 1 yard = 3 feet
5.5 **yard **= 3 x 5.5 feet
5.5 yard = 16.5 feet
4 **feet **for 1 package
16.5 feet for x package
x = 166.5/4
x = 4.125 (ignore the decimal digits for the complete number of packages)
x = 4 packages
Hence 4 **packages **are wrapped by the given ribbon.

Ian can wrap 4 packages using 5.5 yards of ribbon. First, we converted the yards to feet, yielding a total of 16.5 feet. Then, we found out that he needs 4 feet of ribbon for each package he wraps.
