since we are shifting equation up 3 units, the equation would be y=x+3

y=x+3 (so that'd be the slope is 1 and the y-intercept is 3)

The new equation of the line after translating y = x up by 3 units is y = x + 3 . This represents the same slope but a higher intercept. The line now crosses the y-axis at (0, 3).
