The Nile River's annual flooding, occurring between July and October, deposited fertile silt crucial for agriculture in ancient Egypt. This cycle was culturally significant, viewed as a divine gift, and enabled the growth of a prosperous civilization along its banks. Modern interventions like the Aswan Dam have transformed this natural cycle profoundly.
